Help me, Jesus - when I can't let go of pain.
Help me, Jesus - when my tears are all in vain.
Help me, Jesus - when I don't know what to do.
Help me, Jesus - show me how to trust You.
Help me, Jesus - to walk in faith and power.
Help me, Jesus - help me in this hour.
Make strong my resolve and certain my steps.
Make wise my decisions and eliminate regret.
Give strength to my heart and make clear my mind
So I might accomplish not my will, but Thine.
Help me to deny the bent of my flesh
So I won't exasperate this mess,
but rather be salve in a painful wound.
Take my anger and change my tune.
For You have a perfect purpose in mind
for this bad situation - that will come in Your time.
I can't see this trial the way that You do.
Your power, Your wisdom - it's all up to You.
The battle's not mine it belongs to the Lord -
so I see more and more that I can not afford
to make it my own. I am not equipped
to take what is evil and make beauty from it.
But You are, my God. And so I must choose
to open my hands and give this to You.
